The 5th edition of the New Zealand Junior Freeride Tour!

The dates for the tour are set. We currently securing a title sponsor but we are pushing ahead! We are proudly supported by the resorts - Remarkables, Mt Olympus and Mt Ruapehu - and NZ SnowSports. Without them we wouldn't be able to run a tour for all you frothing freeriders so a big thanks!

This tour has been set up to provide our junior and adult athletes with the opportunity to compete in professionally run freeride competitions. Our focus is on fun, participation and safety along with promoting the incredible sport that is freeriding.

We are proud to be sanctioned by the prestigious Freeride World Tour (FWT) and are delighted to be running a tour of three events in one season!

As past years the NZJFT will again award invitations to the 2019 JFT World Championship to the stand out skiers and boarders in the 14 – 17 age category (potential for both boys and girls). Last year  Alistair Garland, Ronan Thompson & Pheobe Garland were selected for the NZ junior freeride team. They backed up performances from previous teams and showed NZ is a nation to be reckoned with. Ronan Thompson was crowned overall European snowboard junior champion, making it four years in a row that a kiwi has taken out an overall title.
